Out of the Frame: Contemporary and Historical Embroidery and Stitch.
The exhibition is organised to coincide with the international conference of the Embroiderers’ Guild and its first major exhibition of embroidery and stitch to be mounted by the Craft Council. Out of the Frame is organised in three parts: The Development of Embroidery and Stitch in 20th century Britain; Contemporary work: embroidery and stitch as a means of artistic expression, featuring sixty makers; Historical Treasures, from the collections of the Embroiderers’ Guild, and other public and private collections.
